Managed Dedicated Server Packages

QuickPacket offers managed dedicated servers to our clients. Basic management is included with most dedicated servers. Basic management includes the services listed below with a one hour limit per month and a 15 minute minimum per request. Server management is currently only available on select Linux-based systems with cPanel, DirectAdmin, or InterWorx. The following services are included with our basic level of management. Additional services are available through our Managed Support Services.

1. Server Configuration - Our technicians will help you initially configure your server and will answer any questions you might have about the functionality of the control panel.

2. Server Troubleshooting - If your server is having performance issues, we will help you find the cause and make suggestions based on our observations.

3. Control Panel Support - If you purchase a control panel from us, we will answer any questions or problems you may have related to the function of the control panel.

4. Operating System Patch and Security Updates - We will update your server using yum, apt, or a similar service.

5. Optional Services - The following services can be requested for no charge by submitting a support ticket.

- We will disable unnecessary services running with by default.
- We will secure your /tmp, /var/tmp, and /dev/shm directories.
- We will install mod_security and configure it with our default rule set.
- We will install a firewall (CSF/LFD - cPanel; APF/BFD - cPanel/DirectAdmin/InterWorx)
- We will configure LogWatch to send a daily e-mail report.
- We will install GD, FreeType, mcrypt, ImageMagick, curl, Zend, and ionCube.
- We will disable unnecessary cPanel/WHM services and options.
- We will disable SSHv1, configure a unique SSHv2 port, and disable direct root login.
- We will setup an alert e-mail whenever a user logs in as root.
- We will setup rkhunter and/or chkrootkit and configure it send you a report once per day.
- We will modify wget/GET/lynx/curl so that they can only be run by the root user.
